Phil Simmond’s work is never done, juggling the roles of writer, arranger, bassist and producer.
Currently based in LA, Phil Simmonds stepped into the spotlight in 2011 when his diary become increasingly packed with gigs and tour dates for UK pop superstar Jessie J and another group, the aptly titled Bassment Project. “I built a studio in the basement of this big warehouse in West London, where I was studying at Tech Music Schools, and I put together this project with two keys players, two guitars, drums, bass, two percussionists and a five-piece horn section! I thought it could be terrible or phenomenal! But we’ll just see what happens.”
