Buyer’s Guide | Warwick Thumb Bass

Part Two Of Our Essential Guide to Buying Bass Gear Despite making a mouthwatering range of top-line basses, Warwick is probably best known for their Thumb Bass. Introduced in 1985, it’s probably not quite ready to qualify for ‘classic’ status just yet, but as an icon of modern bass design, it can certainly stake its claim. The diminutive, smoothly shaped, natural wood body, with its delightful, almost gratuitous convex/concave shaping on the front and back, perhaps sums up the Warwick aesthetic better than any of the German company’s other models. Korn recruit Tye Trujillo to play bass on their upcoming South American tour. Californian metallers Korn have recruited Tye Trujillo, the son of Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo and a member of The Helmets, to play bass on their upcoming South American tour. Having single-handedly pioneered the nu-metal sound with their first album in 1994, the band’s regular bassist, Fieldy (whose nickname evolved from an original handle of Garfield, after the ample-cheeked cartoon cat) will rejoin the group in time for their North American tour in May. A statement released on the band’s Facebook page read; “We are bummed Fieldy can’t join us on this run, but...
