Ibanez launch their first Electric Upright
Complete with a Brazilwood bow, a TAMA Roadpro stand and a padded gigbag, the Ibanez UB804 looks an appealing option for those bass guitarists looking to dabble in doubling. But this is no ordinary EUB. The ‘Upswing’, is Ibanez’s very first electric upright bass, and like its competitors, it has been designed to offer a similar playing experience and bass sound to that of a double bass, but in a more portable package that can be plugged directly into an amplifier, doing away with any feedback issues. The minimal design comprises a maple body, Jatoba fretboard and a five-piece maple/walnut neck, together with an AeroSilk Piezo pickup. For those in search of an upright bass that’s easy to transport after a gig, the UB804 could be a fine place to start.
